Childers Art Gallery (ChArts)

72 Churchill Street

Located in the Palace Building, the art gallery hosts art exhibitions and houses the backpacker memorial. The memorial was dedicated to the 15 young packpackers who died when a fire was deliberately lit on the 23rd June 2000.

Kanaka Memorial

Commemorating the contribution made by the Kanakas from Polynesia to the Queensland Sugar industry.

Mosaic Pavement Gallery

Chuchill Street

Walk along Childers main street and see our pavement gallery that was created in 2003.

Consisting of 53 mosaic panels, 5 mosaic nodes and 6 sculpture elements these artworks are sure to inspire and delight!

Childers Firehouse Potters

The firehouse Potters are located in the old Childers fire station. Stop in and have a look at their artwork. Special nights and fund raising events are held throughout the year.

Childers Quilters Inc

Anglican Church Hall

Members meet at Christ Church (Anglican hall) cnr Macrossan St & McIlwraith St., Childers. Get-together Thursdays 9.30 am with monthly meetings scheduled first Thursday of the month.
With Childers as the centre point, Patchworkers attend from neighbouring regions and surrounding rural areas. Childers Quilters is predominantly a patchwork & quilting club.  We cater to a range of craft activities – knitting, crocheting, embroidery, picture art, teddy bear & doll making.
